Jalandhar, July 6, 2024: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) always takes initiatives in organising various informative programs to enhance knowledge and employability skills of the students. Being the pioneer institution for skill development, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has touched many milestones.
In a new initiative, KMV has introduced new age add-on certificate courses and all these courses has been received with much appreciation by the students. Students are continuously opting for these courses along with their regular degrees as it will add more value to their education and they will also be able to enhance their professional skills. This type of skill based vocational courses is in sync with New Education Policy of India at undergraduate level. Most of these certificate courses are skill based and aligned with Sector Skill Council, NSDC (Govt. of India) and are certified & valid internationally. Minimum eligibility for these certificate courses is 10+2 & these courses can be opted by students along with their regular degree or they can enrol for these certificate courses only. These certificate courses are being offered at minimal fees and are open for all girls from outside KMV also as these will provide support to them for skill training, job and certification.
Throwing more light on it, Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that KMV offers a wide range of new skill development certificate courses, aimed at improving technical and academic skills in the students. These courses are Retail Sales Associate, Domestic Data Entry Operator, Graphic Designing/Video Editing, Makeup Artist, Commercial Art, Digital Banking, Vedic Mathematics, Early Childhood Care & Education, Geriatric Care (Old Age Care & Nutrition), Food Production (Commission Chef), Creative Design, Punjabi Culture and Women's Folk Art, Basics of Performing Arts (Music Vocal), Data Analytics with Power B and Tableau, Public Speaking, Creative Writing, Gandhian Thought and Philosophy, Data Analysis Using Statistical Software, Professional Counselling Skills, Household Physics and many more. These courses are also designed to demonstrate the highest standards of skilling and offers a platform to young people to showcase their talent at national and international levels.
Prof. Dwivedi said that these initiatives will bring positive changes because these courses will enable the students to be job ready and will upgrade their skills for better placements.
