Ludhiana, March 22, 2013: The students of Christian Medical, Dental, Nursing and Physiotherapy Colleges came together to put up, Addams Family: The Musical here today. It is a story of love, as the young daughter of the family, Wednesday played by 1st   year MBBS students, Anisha, falls in love with a ‘normal’ guy, Lukas, played by Neerav Aruldas 4th  year MBBS student. When the 2 families meet for dinner chaos and hilarity follow as they try to have ‘one normal night!’

Once again the students of CMC have mesmerised us with a witty, charming performance, a cast of endearing characters, a superb score, groovy dance numbers, and hilarious repartees. All in all, a splendid night for all the in audience. A word from the director of the play, Mariya Jacob a 4th year MBBS student, “We didn’t have any professional help, but we who came here to study medicine have become actors, singers, costumes designers, musicians, lights and sound specialists, advertisers, carpenters and a lot more! And that’s one reason CMC and we CMCites are special. We stand out as we learn a lot more about life and about handling people.”

The scintillating music was directed by Dr. Jerin Kuruvilla, a Medical Intern, Choreography by Susan Daniel and Swetha Alexander (MBBS 4th year), production was jointly organized by Sajin Mathew and Angelo Christopher (both 4th year Medical Students) and publicity managed by Dr. Jacob Joseph and Dr. Jane John. While these are just a few names, a mammoth cast and crew of more than 110 students from all colleges have been tirelessly working for the last 2 months, in addition to their regular studies and activities. Now that’s all-round! Of course, behind every successful student is their guide.

And this year the Faculty Advisor was Dr. Nitin Batra, Deputy Medical Superintendent without whose relentless guidance, advise and support none of this would be possible. All proceeds from the sale of tickets and fundraising goes towards the aid of poor patients which CMC serves.
