Students conceptualised their ideas into reality by turning waste into wealth

Nawanshahr, May 31, 2022: Expressing concern over degradation in environment, students across the various Government Schools of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar today Conceptualised their ideas into reality by displaying models today at Government Senior Secondary School, Hiyala.

      Deputy Commissioner, Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa while visiting the students to see the remarkable work done by the students said that the concepts in which the models have been prepared show the hidden talent of the students. He said that the models based on natural disasters, solar power, fuel from bio waste, models from newspaper waste, were extraordinary and beyond the imagination of this age group.

  He said that the project was based upon the assignment given by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology in coordination with the Canadian High Commission. He said as the district already ranked first in state in Scientific activities so the current theme 'The Only Earth' with Subtheme 'Wealth out of Waste' was awarded to the district for further competitions.

    As many as 21 schools, three each from seven educational blocks, participated in this competition. Out of which, models created by Jasmine from Government Senior Secondary School Palli Jhikki, Navjot Jasaal from Government High School Gadh padhana and Kulwinder Kumar from Government High School Kukkar Suha, declared first, second and third respectively.

   He said these winners would be awarded on June 6 by the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and Canadian High Commission.

    Prominent amongst the others Present on the occasion included District Education Officer (Secondary) Kulwinder Singh Sarai, Principal Narinder Kumar Verma, District Science Supervisor Satnam Singh and Science teachers from the participating schools.
