Students go crazy to catch a glimpse of world renowned wrestler 'The Great Khali' at PCTE

Ludhiana, February 16, 2016. The college students of PCTE gathered around to catch a glimpse of the Wrestling champion - 'The Great Khali'. The Great Khali is a retired professional wrestler best known for his time with WWE. He visited the college to promote “Pro Wrestling Sports Event” to be organized first time in Punjab. The main motive of the show is to educate the youth regarding drug de- addiction and motivate them toward nation and sports.
Khali said, “There is no dearth of talent in the country, but it has to be recognized”, he said that he has been running Continental Wrestling Entertainment Academy in Jalandhar with a prime objective of encouraging and preparing the youth for wrestling. He added that they must not fall prey to drugs and urged youth to avoid taking health supplements for muscle building.
To succeed in competitive wrestling, you need to nurture a rare blend of functional strength, speed, endurance, technical skill and mental fortitude. On the other hand, injuries are commonplace, making wrestling one of the most difficult sports in the world. It helps young people develop important qualities such as self esteem, sportsmanship, work ethic and leadership skills and we are honored to have The Great Khali at our campus as he is the best example of aforesaid said Mr. Swapan Chanana, Unit Head, PCTE.
Dr. K N S Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes on the occasion said, “Fitness is a rigorous discipline”. It demands dedicated commitment and constant hard work on regular basis to win at a platform like this. We are elated to have one of the prominent wrestlers “The Great Khali” at PCTE.
