Students of Fashion Design showcase their collection at “The Runway 2020”
CT Group organizes fashion show “The Runway 2020”
Jalandhar: To enhance the creativity and imagination in the field of fashion, the Department of Fashion Design, CT Group of Institutions, South Campus, Shahpur in association with Saurav Kumar makeup artist organized “The Runway 2020” - a Fashion Show by budding designer students of the department. Young designers participated enthusiastically in the show with the themes like Masquerade Sunrays, Greeko Mordore, Denblue Gloss Floss etc.
It was a glamorous 3-day show which boosted the visibility of fashion and hard work of final year students. The event provided platform & opportunity to the models to showcase their talent, boosting their confidence. The event was inaugurated by the lamp lighting ceremony performed by CT Group Co-Chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi along with HOD of department Ankita Kararia and other staff members.
The event included 6 collections and every round was video recorded and will be released on all social media platforms of the institute. The choreography of every round along with the makeup of models was done by Celebrity Make-Up Artist Saurav Kumar and his team.
The collections included the tribe inspired by traditional dance and outfits of Kalbelia; Aquaman inspired the underwater world and treasures of its beauty; Sheesha-e-Aks inspired by mirror work of traditional Indian outfits; Blossom- Inspired by the booming floral beauties of the spring; A delightful collection of gowns and A special collection inspired from Disney characters concluded the show on a cheery note. These collections were designed by the students namely Guresh Kumar, Diksha Kumari, Pawanpreet Kaur, Navdeep Singh, Kareena , Simran, Amandeep Kaur, Simran, Navpreet Kaur, Jaspreet Kaur, Simranjeet Kaur, Sarabjeet Kaur, Isha, Pooja, Neha and Rajni.
Ankita Kararia, HOD, Fashion Design Department said “It was a big platform for the budding designer students of the Group to expose their hidden creativity through the designs that they made in their final semester.”
Parminder Kaur Channi, Co-Chairperson, CT Group, Manbir Singh, Managing Director, Campus Director Dr. GS Kalra and Dean Academics Dr. Anupamdeep Sharma appreciated the efforts put in by the Fashion Design students and motivated them as such events gives practical exposure to the students.
