Students of Innocent Hearts became Chess Champion in Khed Mela: won cash prize along with trophy
Meritorious students of Innocent Hearts brought laurels to the school by winning gold medals in the Chess Championship at the Punjab Khed Mela.
Jalandhar, November 21, 2022: Meritorious students of Innocent Hearts brought laurels to the school by winning gold medals in the Chess Championship at the Punjab Khed Mela. This Punjab Khed Mela was organized at Sports College Jalandhar on October 16, 18 and 20, 2022. Participants from 23 districts took part in this sports fair. In this chess championship, students of Innocent Hearts School, Green Model Town, Yaksha Arora, played at the under-17 (boys) state level and won gold medal, Sakshi Gupta, played at the under-14 (girls) state level, and Anish Sikka, played at the under-21 (boys) level became the champions of this team event by playing at the state level and winning the gold medal in boys). These winning champions were given a trophy along with a prize money of Rs 10,000, which was transferred to their bank accounts. Lavjit Singh (District Sports Officer), Manish Thapar (President, Punjab State Chess Association) and Dr. Ranbir Singh (Principal, Sports College) awarded trophies and Rs.10,000 as prizes to these champions.
On this occasion Dr. Anup Bowry, Chairman of Innocent Hearts applauded Sports HOD Sanjeev Bhardwaj and Anil and coach Chandresh Bakshi. He congratulated the winners and wished them all the best for the future.
