Students of PCM S.D. College for Women celebrate Green Day
Under the Environment Education Program of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF & CC), Government of India, executed with the guidance of the State Nodal Agency, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, and GNDU, Amritsar, the Eco Club of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Department of Science, celebrated Green Day on the college campus.
Jalandhar, October 5, 2024: Under the Environment Education Program of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF & CC), Government of India, executed with the guidance of the State Nodal Agency, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, and GNDU, Amritsar, the Eco Club of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with the Department of Science, celebrated Green Day on the college campus.
To mark the importance of environmental preservation and greenery for life on the planet, a documentary highlighting the significance of forests and green cover was shown to the students. The documentary underscored that the future of our forests is not only vital for the environment but also for our collective well-being. It motivated viewers to take action, engage with communities, and advocate for the responsible use of these critical natural resources.
Such initiatives by academic institutions foster a sense of concern and responsibility among youth regarding the prudent use of limited natural resources.
President Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Vinod Dada, the other esteemed members of the Managing Committee and the Principal, Prof.Dr. Pooja Prashar, commended the efforts of the Eco Club and the Department of Science, praising their dedication to promoting environmental awareness.
