Style Tatva concludes, Mayor shops at FLO Style Tatva on Sunday
FLO's signature event, Style Tatva, the fashion and lifestyle exhibition, Edition 3, concluded on Sunday at Hitex.
Hyderabad, July 23, 2023: FLO's signature event, Style Tatva, the fashion and lifestyle exhibition, Edition 3, concluded on Sunday at Hitex.
It saw 240 exhibitors showcasing their products. It had a special FLO initiatives pavilion, which showcased Telia Rumals, a dying craft form among others. The weavers of Puttapaka village have also set up a loom. Several visitors were seen enquiring about Telia Rumal.
Through Style Tatva we could create good visibility and recognition for the craft Telia Rumal, informed Ritu Shah, Chairperson of FLO (FICCI Ladies Organisation). Together yesterday and today, we have registered a footfall of over 9.5 thousand, she said.
Bhaskar, Sarpanch of Puttapaka village which is the center for Telia Rumal craft said Puttapaka and Koyyalgudem two villages are involved in the craft. Together they produce Telia Rumal Fabric worth Rs 5 crore a month. But, they don’t have buyers. What they need is marketing help, design intervention, online promotion and financial support from the government in terms of interest-free loans. Nearly 1000 families depend on this dying craft, he said.
Sunday also witnessed the Mayor of Hyderabad, Smt. Vijayalakshmi Gadwal visited it along with her relatives. She was seen shopping for herself. Several visitors recognized her and requested her for a snap, which she happily obliged.
She was seen going around the exhibition, walking into several stalls, making enquiries.
FLO is a partner with the G-20 Empower initiative and offers two platforms. One is mentorship for women and the second one is tech equity. Elaborating on this Ritu Shah said, Mentor Women creates entrepreneurial diversity and equity. She urged women to join the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP)
Talking about Tech Equity she said, it caters to women across disciplines and in different walks of life. It introduces digital, financial literacy, technical skill development and core skill enhancement, to gain knowledge and skills necessary in a digitized world.
JIY0, a project of the Asian Heritage Foundation, supported by the World Bank showcased decorative and utility items made up of sikki grass that are available in Bihar, and were highlighted among other products showcased by other exhibitors.
Four kilograms of edible cake, the giant size cake in the shape of a butta (bag) by Araga was another attraction besides designer clothes, jewellery showcased in the exhibition on Sunday.
Hyderabad-based Shiv Narayan Jewellers which bagged 8 Guinness World Records showcased the pendants and other jewellery items which got Guinness recognition. These master jewellery pieces too were a highlight of the show.
