The workshop served as a platform for professional development, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among dietitians, with the aim of enhancing the quality of nutritional care and kitchen operations in healthcare settings. The workshop, attended by more than 25 dedicated dietitians, proved to be a fruitful collaboration between academia and public health institutions.
Dr. Uttara, Assistant Professor from the Department of Foods and Nutrition at Government Home Science College, led insightful sessions on "Principles of Therapeutic Nutrition, Menu Planning, and Nutritional Requirements." Attendees delved into the intricacies of understanding macronutrients and micronutrients, learned meal planning strategies tailored to specific health conditions, and explored methods for designing menus that cater to diverse dietary needs.
Dr. Vasudha Bansal, Assistant Professor from the Department of Foods and Nutrition at Government Home Science College, facilitated sessions on "Kitchen Equipment and Workflow Management." Participants gained valuable insights into optimizing kitchen operations, including an overview of kitchen equipment maintenance, strategies for efficient food production and distribution, staff training for equipment usage, and hands-on practice sessions.
