Sufi-Music Queens ‘Nooran Sisters’ enthralled LPU Students
Occasion was live performance by Nooran Sisters at LPU Campus Jalandhar, March 22, 2019: Classical vocal queens and Sufi-singing maestros ‘Nooran Sisters’- Sultana and Jyoti- reached Lovely Professional University, today, where they spellbound thousands of LPU students through their soulful performance. Trained in the field of traditional “SUFI MUSIC” for the past decade, both took over the Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis stage with their heavenly voice and charismatic temperaments. Getting the great & enthusiastic response from the audience, both of them appreciated the admiration of LPU students for traditional music. On this occasion, present among other elite guests were Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi and Member of Parliament, Santokh Singh Chaudhary. Prior to this, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal welcomed the singing sensations at the campus. When they performed on the traditional Sufiana Song “Allah Hoo”, all among the audience underwent a swooning state created by their enthralling music outpours. Many prestigious awards’ winners, both the international performers also performed for their Bollywood debut song from film ‘Highway’-‘Patakha Guddi’. Throughout their performance, LPU students kept on singing, dancing, yelling at their each and every melody and appreciated their blissful gestures. They also sang “Duniya Matlab Dee, Yaar Di Gali, Tung Tung Baje, Jugni Kehndi Ae, Rabb da Karam” and more, among which are many from their Bollywood hits. Interacting with LPU students, they advised students to be always learners in life to be ever successful and winning. Remembering the elated evening session with the strong voices, LPU students revealed all appreciation for a great musical environment created by Nooran sisters. Following the Sham Chaurasi Gharana and “Mirasi” traditions of music, the tremendously talented Sufi-Music duo presented tens of their popular songs, which are well-esteemed in the bollywood and elite music realms. Glowingly rooted in their linguistic and musical traditions, both sisters are truly following in the footsteps of their grandmother Bibi Nooran- a well-known singer of her times, after whom they are nick-named also.
