Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa inaugurates Markfed’s Modern Cattlefeed Plant Kapurthala digitally
The new plant has been established at a cost of Rs. 13 crores in a record time period of one and half year
Chandigarh: Punjab Co-operation and Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today digitally inaugurated state-of-the-art Technologically Advanced Cattlefeed & Allied Industries Plant of Markfed at Kapurthala from Head Office of Markfed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister commended the role of Markfed for initiating new commercial steps during lockdown. He further stated that this plant would cater to the nutritional needs of the Animal Husbandry sector with production of rich nutritious composite cattle-feed on scientific lines. He further said that Markfed should soon come-up with a similar plant at Gidderbaha. He further appreciated the efforts made by Markfed cattlefeed Plant during the month of April, May and June, 2020. The Managing Director apprised Randhawa about the coupon scheme of cattle-feed, which is being started in the month of July.
While speaking on the occasion, Markfed MD Varun Roojam, briefed about the plant which is fully automated and free from any manual touch in the entire production process. He added that this plant was the latest cattle-feed plant in Punjab. Even in the challenging scenario of Covid-19, the plant has registered an increase in production by 240 MT and has led to better profits. He further added that the new plant has been established at a cost of Rs. 13 crores in a record time period of one and half year with a capacity to produce 150 TPD, which could be extended up to 300 TPD.
