Sukhna Vaccine Centre achieves 5000 vaccinations target

Chandigarh, September 1, 2021: Health Department UT Chandigarh and Karan Gilhotra Foundation in association with ASR Foundation & United Sikhs today celebrated completion of 5000 Covid-19 vaccinations at Sukhna Lake vaccination camp. A cake cutting ceremony was kept to mark the occasion, which was attended by UT Adviser, Dharam Pal and actor Jimmy Shergill.

Amardeep S Reen from ASR Foundation said that 5000 vaccinations were completed in a month at the Sukhna Lake vaccination centre and the target now is 10,000 for this month. ASR Foundation is actively engaged in the service of community.
He said that the camp aims at 100 percent vaccination in Chandigarh to keep the anticipated third wave of Covid away. The efforts will continue till the whole city is not fully vaccinated.

Free vaccination is available at the Sukhna Lake centre between 4 pm to 8 pm every day. The foundation has provided waterproof canopies with seating arrangement for those who visit the centre to take the vaccine.

Speaking on the occasion, Dharam Pal, UT Adviser  said, “I am happy to know that the camp has achieved the initial target of 5000 vaccinations.”

Jimmy Shergill also lauded the work being done by the Karan Gilhotra Foundation, ASR Foundation and UT Health Department. He appealed to the people of Chandigarh to come forward and get themselves vaccinated which is the only way to get protection from COVID.
