Sunil Jyoti assumes charge of Mayor

Jalandhar, September 26, 2012: The newly elected City Mayor Sunil Jyoti assumed charge of his office today.

Present on the occasion included BJP state general secretary and Political Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Kamal Sharma , BJP state vice president and Organisational Elections In charge Vinod Sharma , Punjab Chief Parliamentary Secretary Krishan Dev Bhandari, Senior Deputy Mayor Kamaljit Singh Bhatia , Deputy Mayor Arvinder Kaur Oberai, former Mayor Rakesh Rathore and BJP District President S Sood.

Speaking on the occasion, Jyoti assured the citizens of Jalandhar that he was committed to the development, cleanliness, beautification of the city. He added he would try his best to bring financial assistance from the Punjab Government for the city. He added all the pending works would be completed in the future.

On the occasion, Kamal Sharma said the alliance between SAD-BJP was holy. He told that the coalition was committed for overall development in Punjab. He said Punjab Government would release adequate funds for the development works of Jalandhar city in the near future.

Vinod Sharma said the party activists and cadre was always committed towards its commitments for the organisation and the cadre as well.
