Hyderabad, August 12, 2019: The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), an autonomous organisation of the Government of India, involved in India’s external cultural relations, through cultural exchange with other countries and their peoples.

And Hyderabad based Surmandal a 50years old organization in the service of the music are to jointly present a Hindustani Classical Recital here in the city on 18th August at 6pm at Pingali Venktrama Reddy Hall, Besides Ramakrishna Mutt, Lower Tank Bund, Hyderabad.

The Hindusthani Classical Recital is a tribute to The Living Legend of Hindustani Classical Music—Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma informed Mohan Hemmadi, President of Surmandal and Y.L. Rao, Director of ICCR.

The Hindusthani Classical Recital will be performed by Anuradha Kuber(Vocal) and Shri Pt. Satish Vyas(Santoor). They will be accompanied by Soumitra Kshirsagar(Harmonium), Ojas Adhia(Tabla) and Harijit Singh(Table)

Santoor Maestro Pandit Satish Vyas is a very renowned artist. His the son of Padma Bhushan (Late) Pandit C. R. Vyas, one of the most respected vocalists on the Indian music scene. He is the disciple of the great legend Padma Vibhushan Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma - a man so identified with his instrument that classical Indian Santoor playing is unthinkable without Shiv Kumar Sharma's contribution to the art.

Pandit Satish Vyas has been a regular concert artist for the last more than 30 years, performing and recording all over the world, more extensively in the USA, UK & Europe, Japan and Australasia.

He was the only non-Western instrumentalist invited to perform in Venice, Italy at the "Mostra Mozart Festival", organised by the prestigious European Mozart Foundation. Vyas had also manifested his versatility by performing as a "guest musician" with the Jazz / World Music Fusion Group, "Silk" accompanying the renowned vocalist Shankar Mahadevan, the Percussion maestro Shivamani, well known Composer /Pianist / Keyboard artiste Louis Banks and Karl Peters (Bass Guitar) at a Barbican Centre concert in London few years back.

He performed at the world famous EDINBURGH Festival in Scotland, Stockholm Music Festival in Sweden. Satish Vyas presented his Santoor Recital at the European Parliament.

Pandit Satish Vyas has a number of recordings to his credit with labels such as UK-based Navras Records, Music Today, Times Music, BMG Crescendo and Sony Music. Recently Sony Music has released an album titled RESONANCE which is partly composed by Satish Vyas along with 3 Boston ( USA ) based American Musicians.

Anuradha Kuber is a well known vocalist of the current generation.

She has been rigorously trained for 15 years by the veteran musician, Guru Pt. T.D. Janorikar, one of the few foremost exponents of Bhendi-Bazaar Gharana. She has been invited to perform all over India in all major cities Some of these include: The National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai.; Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar Jayanti Samahora, New Delhi; All India Radio Aakashwani Sangeet Sammelan, Jammu and many others. She toured Australia and New Zealand and performed at the celebrated Perth Festival, the Aukland Festival, at Wellington, Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane (Spirit of India organisation). She bagged many awards and scholarships.

Her discography(a descriptive catalogue of musical recordings) include: ‘Mehfil’ – Flash Music Company – Collection of Raag sangeet renditions.; Srujan Pratham’ – Rainbow Music Company – Collection of Bandish-s written and composed by musicologist and harmonium artist Dr. Chaitanya Kunte; Sanchayan’ – Collection of Raag sangeet renditions; Hidden Gems’ - Mystica, New Delhi – Collection of Raag sangeet renditions; Studio Series – RagaNxt, Pune. – Collection of Raag sangeet and a semi classical composition and Reviving Traditions’ – Sonic Octaves – Collection of Ustad Aman Ali Khan Saheb’s compositions
