Chandigarh, March 22, 2023: As a part of the ongoing NSS seven day camp at Panjab University, Chandigarh. The volunteers carried out a survey camp at Khudda Lahora village of Chandigarh, with the subject being the individuals lying between the age range of 15-30 who are unemployed and currently what are they doing.
The responsibility of carrying out this survey in the entire country was given to The NSS volunteers throughout the country by the Youth and Sports Department. The aim of this survey was to identify the unemployed individuals lying in this age-range, so that a policy can be framed to tackle this problem, and frame a policy under which they can obtain a job and contribute to the economic and social development of the country. The volunteers went to the doorsteps of local residents and enquired about the number of individuals in the committee and their current income amount and occupation, and whether they have taken a loan from a bank or any Institution's and what they are doing to pay off the debt. The residents were also made to realise the importance of end to drug addiction, which currently is a big threat to the society, under the Fit-India Scheme, through a Street play (Nukkad Naatak) which attracted a lot of audience.
In the evening part of the session, various cultural activities were organised by the volunteers in the presence of NSS programme officer Dr. Shankar Sehgal, Dr. Naveen Kumar, Dr. Namita Gupta and Dr. Manish Sharma.
