Chandigarh, March 14, 2023: Young and budding entrepreneurs of Home Science College brought laurels to the college by winning third prize in ‘Dragons Den’ a Tech Sharks- Pitch Your Startup Ideas Competition in inter-state IT Fest ‘OSMIUM…Whetstone of Talent’ organized by PGGCG-42 on 11th March.
Ekta from M.Sc.(CT) and Latasha and Khushi from B.Sc.( H.Sc) are using waste flowers from local temples into the making of organic tie and dye. The team of three young entrepreneurs impressed the Sharks by the innovative pitch of sustainable clothing wherein they are using these organic tie and dye colours to make dupattas, napkins, bedsheets and designers clothing. Ekta in her pitch explained how her sustainable fashion products create an edge over synthetic dyed ones which are not only harmful to skin but also pose environmental threats. She is also running her digital start-up with name The fashionbluff.
Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, congratulated the winners and applauded the efforts of participants and mentors for successful participation in the event.
