Kapurthala, December 14, 2024: Pushpa Gujral Science City, on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, organized a Science Play competition with the theme “Powering Sustainability: Every Watt Counts.”
The event, held on Saturday, emphasized the importance of energy conservation and highlighted the role that every individual, industry, and government plays in adopting sustainable energy practices. The theme stressed on how small efforts can collectively lead to significant change, promoting the holistic development of energy conservation and climate change mitigation. In the science play competition more than 200 school students and teachers actively participated. Students showcased their creativity and understanding of sustainable energy solutions through innovative performances. In a competition first prize bagged to Alpine Public School Kapurthala, Dayanand Model School Jalandhar secured second prize and DAV Model High School Kapurhala stood third position.
Dr. Munish Soin, Scientist-D, Science City, delivered an insightful address emphasizing the importance of renewable energy. He highlighted that solar energy has the potential to fill up to 20% of the electricity gap in the country, making it a viable and sustainable option for the future.
Further, solar energy is abundant and can be harnessed year-round, making it a practical solution for most areas.
