SVEEP Stall set up in Suwidha Camps in Ludhiana
Relay race in schools on Nov 14 to make people aware of their voting rights
Ludhiana, October 29, 2021: In a bid to achieve 100 per cent polling in the upcoming assembly elections-2022, the district administration on Friday set up special Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) stalls in Suwidha Camps organized in each sub-division of the district.
Inaugurating such stall in Jagraon, Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-SVEEP Nodal Officer Dr Nayan said that these stalls were set up to apprise the people of the importance of their votes, enrolment of eligible youth as voters, deletion of dead voters, National Voter Services Portal (NVSP), Voter Helpline App, Garuda app and others.
She said that the youth need to click the link www.nvsp.in for getting them registered as new voters and youth could also download Voter Helpline App from Google Play store in their android phone for enrolling them as voters.
She said that special thrust was being laid on encouraging the young voters to come out and cast their vote during the polls. Dr Nayan said that youths are asset of country and their energy and passion will take the country to greater heights besides strengthening democracy at the grass root level.
District SVEEP Nodal officer also told that a relay race would be organized in all schools on November 14 to ensure every youth registers himself as voter and cast it in the elections.
During the camp, the girls' students of Khalsa Senior Secondary School Jagraon staged a play as part of series of awareness events under SVEEP campaign.
