SVEEP teams reach out to voters at Bus Stand, urges them to cast their votes on June 1
Intensifying the voter awareness drive at the public places, the teams of district administration went to the bus stand on Thursday and urged the voters to cast their votes on June 1, 2024 for strengthening democracy.
Ludhiana, May 9, 2024: Intensifying the voter awareness drive at the public places, the teams of district administration went to the bus stand on Thursday and urged the voters to cast their votes on June 1, 2024 for strengthening democracy.
Working under Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, the teams took out an awareness rally and urged the voters to actively participate in the Lok Sabha-2024 elections.
Banners were also installed different points of the bus stand with a message to encourage the eligible voters to exercise their Right to Vote. The teams also interacted with the passengers and the shopkeepers at the bus stand.
District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney said that a large number of voter awareness activities are being organised across the district. The teams are also visiting the public places on a regular basis to encourage the eligible voters.
The aim of district administration is to ensure maximum participation during the Lok Sabha-2024 elections and to achieve the target of more than 70 per cent voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections (Iss Baar, 70 Paar).
DEO Sawhney said that the district administration and police are committed to hold free, fair and transparent elections in the district and the residents should cast their vote without any fear and without coming under anyone's influence.
DEO Sawhney further said that every effort is being made to facilitate the voters at the polling stations on polling days (June 1).
