`Swachh Bharat Mission’: MLAs Bagga, Sidhu and Gogi flag off `Swachhta Mashaal Marches’ to promote cleanliness
Launching cleanliness drives in different parts of the city, MLAs Madan lal Bagga, Kulwant Singh Sidhu and Gurpreet Bassi Gogi flagged off 'Swachhta Mashaal Marches' on Friday.
Ludhiana, March 31, 2023: Launching cleanliness drives in different parts of the city, MLAs Madan lal Bagga, Kulwant Singh Sidhu and Gurpreet Bassi Gogi flagged off 'Swachhta Mashaal Marches' on Friday.
Ludhiana North MLA Bagga flagged off the march in Salem Tabri area, while Atam Nagar MLA Sidhu and Ludhiana West MLA Gogi flagged off the marches on Gill road and Bhai Randhir Singh (BRS) Nagar respectively.
Apart from MC teams, led by Joint Commissioners Sonam Chaudhary, Kulpreet Singh and Zonal Commissioner Jasdev Sekhon, NCC cadets, NGOs etc also participated in the marches wherein they also urged the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean and green. Professor Navdeep Kaur from Baba Jaswant Singh Dental College and Hospital also participated in the drive organised on Shingar cinema road.

MLA Sidhu also wielded the broom alongwith the NCC cadets and sweepers to launch the cleanliness drive.
MLA Bagga and MLA Sidhu also felicitated the sweepers, NCC cadets and members of different NGOs with appreciation certificates for their efforts in keeping the city clean.
Corporation Sanitation Officer (CSO) Ashwani Sahota, Medical Officer Vipal Malhotra and Senior Assistant Engineer Harpal Aujla stated that the marches were organised on the directions of MC Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal. Working under the banner of 'Swachh Bharat Mission', all wards of the city will be covered under the cleanliness drive.
Stating that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led state government is working for overall development of the state. The legislators urged the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean and green and stop dumping waste in open spaces and water bodies.
MLA Gogi further urged the residents to support the authorities in solid waste management by handing over segregated dry and wet waste to the waste collectors. He stated that the goal to manage the solid waste cannot be achieved without the support of residents.
