'Swachhta Di Lehar' : MLAs Prashar and Chhina participate in cleanliness and plastic plogging drives organised in city 

Moving forward under the 'Swachhta Di Lehar' campaign, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi and Ludhiana South MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina participated in the cleanliness and plastic plogging drives organised in different parts of the city on Saturday.

Ludhiana, October 26, 2024: Moving forward under the 'Swachhta Di Lehar' campaign, Ludhiana Central MLA Ashok Prashar Pappi and Ludhiana South MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina participated in the cleanliness and plastic plogging drives organised in different parts of the city on Saturday. 

Alongwith the participants, MLAs Prashar and Chhina also wielded the broom and collected the plastic waste during the campaign. MC Assistant Commissioner-cum-Zonal Commissioner (Zone B) Neeraj Jain among other civic body officials also participated in the drive.
 
During the cleanliness drives, the legislators and officials also spreaded awareness among the residents to keep their surroundings clean and support the authorities in solid waste management. The residents were urged to handover segregated dry and wet waste to garbage collectors and stop dumping garbage in open spaces/vacant plots.
 
MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal said that the fortnight-long campaign - 'Swachhta Di Lehar' has been commenced in the city on the directions of Local Bodies minister Dr Ravjot Singh. The civic body has prepared a schedule to cover all major roads, entry points to the city, market places, religious places, parks etc across the city and the officials/staff have been directed to follow the same strictly. NGOs/educational institutes/residents are also being involved in the cleanliness drives.

Dachalwal further said that the senior officials have been monitoring the cleanliness drives and he would also be conducting surprise inspections in the coming days to check the situation at ground level.

Meanwhile Dachalwal appealed the residents to participate in the campaign and spread awareness among others to keep their surroundings clean.
