'Swachhta Hi Sewa': MLA Gogi flagged off 'Cyclothon' organised to mark 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' on Oct 2
Spreading the message of 'Swachhta', Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi flagged off the 'Cyclothon' organised by Municipal Corporation (MC) to mark 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' on Wednesday (Oct 2 - Gandhi Jayanti).
Ludhiana, October 2, 2024: Spreading the message of 'Swachhta', Ludhiana West MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi flagged off the 'Cyclothon' organised by Municipal Corporation (MC) to mark 'Swachh Bharat Diwas' on Wednesday (Oct 2 - Gandhi Jayanti).
Organised under 'Swachhta Hi Sewa' campaign, the cyclothon was flagged off from MC Zone D office in Sarabha Nagar and it moved through different parts of the city spreading the message of 'Swachhta'.
MC Joint Commissioner Ankur Mahindroo said that working on the directions of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, the civic body organised the cyclothon in association with the Water Supply and Sanitation department, The Pedallers, FitClub, Ludhiana Cyclists, Ludhiana Bicycle Club etc.
MC Assistant Commissioner Neeraj Jain, CSI Gurinder Singh, CDO Maheshwar, Community Facilitators among others were also present on the occasion.
Before flagging off the cyclothon, MLA Gogi and other participants also took a pledge to keep the city clean and green. MLA Gogi also felicitated over 40 Safai Karamcharis and Sanitary Supervisors with safety kits and appreciation certificates for their dedication and hard work.
Moving through different parts of the city including Guru Nanak Public School road, Malhar road, Aarti Chowk, Ghumar Mandi, Rose Garden, Fountain chowk, Durga Mata mandir, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Bhai Bala Chowk and Malhar road, the cyclothon ended at MC Zone D office only.
E-certificates for participation and refreshments were also provided to the participants after the conclusion of cyclothon.
MLA Gogi appealed the residents to support the authorities in keeping the city clean and make efforts to spread greenery. MLA Gogi said that we all need to make collective efforts for providing a pollution-free environment to the future generations.
