Symposium on Sustainability and Employability Skills in Pharmaceutical sector organized at CGC Landran
Chandigarh College of Pharmacy (CCP), CGC Landran, in collaboration with Punjab State Pharmacy Council, Punjab Pharmacy Officers Association and APTI organized a symposium on ‘Sustainability and Employability Skills in Pharmaceutical sector.’
Chandigarh College of Pharmacy (CCP), CGC Landran, in collaboration with Punjab State Pharmacy Council, Punjab Pharmacy Officers Association and APTI organized a symposium on ‘Sustainability and Employability Skills in Pharmaceutical sector.’ The event was aimed at discussing the importance of upskilling and being in sync with the latest developments in the pharmaceutical sector, which would help sustain and strengthen employability.
The symposium was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mr. Sushil Kumar Bansal, President, Punjab State Pharmacy Council in the presence of Guest of Honor Mr. Narender Mohan Sharma, President, Punjab State Pharmacy Officers Association, Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran and other dignitaries. Addressing the audience Mr. Bansal highlighted Punjab’s huge contribution to the Indian pharmacy sector. He also emphasized the importance of change which, he added, promotes overall growth. He also underscored the changes being introduced in the syllabus for pharmacy education in order to make pharmacy graduates better skilled and equipped as per the industry requirements.
Post this, Prof. Anand Sharma, Head-Pharmaceutical Management, NIPER, Mohali and Dr. Vandita Kakkar, Professor UIPS, Punjab University delivered expert lectures on Sustainability and Employability Skills in Pharmaceutical sector. Their lectures underscored the importance of continuous learning and skill upgradation which they said is critical to avail the vast employment opportunities available for pharmacy students.
The expert lectures were followed by felicitation ceremony of pharmacists from across the state who were honoured with Awards of Excellence for their service in the pharmaceutical sector. These included Dr. Jasbir Singh, Registrar, Punjab State Pharmacy Council, Basant Mittal, Senior Drug Inspector, Govt. of HP, Dr. M L Pathak, Vice President, Indswift. Ltd Mohali, Rajiv Sharma, Technical Director and Founder member, Health Quest Foundation, Subhash Singh, GM, USV Pharmaceuticals, Jagdeep Singh, President, Punjab Drug Manufacturing Association and Prof Gulshan K. Bansal, President, Punjab State, APTI among others.
The symposium concluded with a cultural performance put up by the students of CCP and Vote of thanks by Dr. Saurabh Sharma, Director, CCP, CGC Landran.
