Synchronised efforts can overcome ill-effects of climate change
In view of the guidelines issued under the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH), a special training session was held on Wednesday by the health department to cultivate synchronised approached to curb I'll effects of climate change on human health.
Ludhiana, September 13, 2023: In view of the guidelines issued under the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH), a special training session was held on Wednesday by the health department to cultivate synchronised approached to curb I'll effects of climate change on human health.
Addressing the officials from different departments, Civil Surgeon Dr. Vivek Kataria said that the objective of this program includes creating population among general population, healthcare providers, and policy makers regarding impacts of climate change on human health so that drive against climate change could be converged into a mass movement.
He further said that this year's theme Together for Clean Air was aaadoptedd under the mission and a comprehensive awareness drive has been chalked out by the government. Together for Clean Air emphasizes the urgent need for stronger partnerships and shared responsibility for overcoming air pollution, he added.
The CS further mentioned that the government has fixed various roles and responsibilities under this drive for several departments including Punjab Pollution Control Board, Municipal Authorities, Education Department, Health Department, Transport Department, Urban Development, Traffic Police, PWD, Women and Child Development, Labour Department, Youth Affairs, NGOs to keep air pollution under check.
Representatives of various departments present in the meeting were sensitized about their duties in this mission so that desirable results could be achieved.
