Taking Dangal's message to the grassroot of India - Private Screening at Gold Cinema, Dharamshala

Dharamshala, December 30, 2016: Gold Cinema, the Mann Family, UTV Motion Pictures, Nidhi Thakur and other locals of Dharamshala hosted a private screening of Aamir Khan’s Dangal for the folk of Khirku village at Gold Cinema, Maximus Mall , Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh.

Davinder Pathania , Manager of Maximus Mall in Dharamsala said, “Fatima Sana Shaikh, the lead actress who plays the older Geeta in Dangal, was in Dharamshala a few months ago. During her visit, she visited Khirku. The villagers loved hosting her and were very excited about her movie.”

It was no surprise then that they were thrilled to be invited for a private screening of Dangal. It was surprising, however, that none of the villagers had been to a real movie theater, let alone a multiplex. On Thursday, they pulled out all the stops for their visit to Gold Cinema, including coming dressed in brand new clothes. Their faces beamed with joy when they saw their Fatima and beloved Aamir on the big screen.

The women who came for the screening were extremely impressed by the film’s message. They left knowing it had and would continue to positively impact their lives. The men too were ecstatic.

Gold Cinema at Maximus Mall is the only cinema offering the modern facilities of a new-age multiplex in Dharamshala. It has already proven its mettle to the citizens of Dharamshala and nearby towns. This initiative fit right in with the cinema chain’s philosophy.
