Ludhiana, August 4, 2023: Global Business Reconnect organised an Architectural Reconnect Summit here on Friday. Panel discussions were held on various topics such as technologies that are changing the way we design and build; Maximising tiny space: Everything there is to know -Reforming, Redesigning and Remodelling of existing space; the future of urban design; and Intelligent Building, sustainability and green design.

Award ceremony for product and service provider from architecture space and leading architecture and interior designing firms was also held. 

Speaking on the occasion, Hemant Bhargava, Chief Sales Manager- North, Tata Tiscon, said Tata Steel group for setting up its steel plant in about 115 acres of land at an investment of Rs.2,600 Crore near Cycle Valley in Ludhiana, which is called as "India's Manchester”. He hoped that the plant would start its functioning in the year 2025. He said the plant would give direct and indirect employment to a good number of local people. He said land has been acquired and boundary wall of the plant has been made. 

Bhargava further said that Punjab has been an enterprising land. He added that they are really excited to be in Punjab where environment is very much industry-friendly and enough demand for steel in the entire region.

He said the today's event was about to bring about the importance of green steel among the architects and the designers. He said people nowadays are asking about weather this particular product is green or not. He said, “Therefore, the Ludhiana plant will churn out green steel.” He added to make steel iron ore and coal are used. As coal is used, a lot of carbon dioxide is generated. He said typically in India for every ton of steel that is produced, around to 2.2 tons of carbon dioxide is emitted.  Ludhiana plant will reduce this emission up to maximum level. He said they have certified most of their products as GreenPro certified and Tata Steel is the best producer in the country.

Further, Bhargava said all of us are fighting with climate change, their impact on the environment. As a responsible global corporate citizen, we are trying to be carbon neutral by 2045.
