He gave patient hearing to the teachers for about two hours at the Auditorium of Punjab School Education Board.

SAS Nagar, November 25, 2024: In its ongoing initiative to ensure quality and qualitative education among the students pursuing study in Government Schools, Minister for School and Higher Education and Public Relations, Harjot Singh Bains started a new initiative “Dialogue with Teachers” from Mohali district, today, evening. He gave patient hearing to the teachers for about two hours at the Auditorium of Punjab School Education Board.

Minister Bains said the move aimed at getting feedback from the Principals, Head Masters, BPEOs, Centre Head Teachers, nodal officers of various programmes and school campus managers about the ongoing reforms and programmes in the Government Schools of the state for further improvement or change.

He said that the Bhagwant Mann Government has introduced the reforms in existing education system by introducing the concept of the School of Eminence, School of Happiness and School of Brilliance to shape the future of Government School Students besides providing platforms to them to see the launching of satellites. Similarly, the school principals, headmasters and teachers have been allowed to get training from Singhapur, IIM Ahmedabad and now from Finland to equip them with the leadership and managerial skills to improve and strengthen our education system as per world-class infrastructure.

He further said that for the first time in the history of education in Punjab, revolutionary steps have been taken to make the government school equivalent to the private ones and instil a sense of confidence and pride among the students studying there.

He said that the only reply to our critics is the transformation of our schools to new-era schools with increased strength and infrastructure. He said that he had visited 1000 schools so far and found most of the teachers dedicated to their work. He said a total of 20,000 schools were surveyed for infra and other upgradation and he is happy to say that about 8000 schools have got 1300 KMs compound walls while construction/renovations and facelift of 10,000 classrooms.

He said that the introduction of the concept of Campus Managers, Security Guards and Sanitation Workers to the Senior Secondary Schools having over 500 strength of students has given a boost to the teaching work as the teachers now have more time to focus on study.

He said that the mega PTMs have given a platform to the parents of the students to interact with the teachers and he was astonished to see the response of students in his constituency Anandpur Sahib during the visit of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on that day.

The Minister said that he has accepted the Education Ministry as a bigger challenge to set things right in Punjab under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and he succeeded in it.

Teachers who visited Finland for training while sharing their experiences thanked the state for providing them the opportunity. Aditi from Sohan School and Satnam Singh from Majri Block said that the Finland Government focuses on the happiness of children during primary education and they have learned the skills how to keep their students excelling in study from their visit.
Among the Principals and Heads with whom the Education Minister Interacted included Mrs Sandhya-Principal, Govt Sen Sec School Gobindgarh, Mrs Anshul Jain- Head Govt High School Ramgarh Rudki,

Khushwinder Kaur- Head, GHS Desumajra, Gursewak Singh-Head, GHS Kumbhra, Lovish- Principal, SOE, Phase 11, Mohali, Shubhwant Kaur-Head GHS Saneta, Parerna- Head, GHS Karala, Jatin Miglani BPEO Kharar, Baldev Singh Campus Manager Sohana, Khushwinder Kaur Desumajra, Satinder Pal Kaur from Govt Primary School Lohgarh, Amanpreet Kaur GPS Jujhar Nagar, Davinder Kaur Mirpur (Derabassi) School of Happiness and many others.

Important programmes like Mission Samarth, Arambh, Enrolment Drive, and Sathee Project under which IIT Kanpur provides online coaching to Punjab's Government Schools training of AIEEE and in-house training for teachers were also discussed.
Best performing schools including GPS Baltana, GPS Saidpura, GSSS Phase 11, Mohali, SOE Mullanpur and SOE 3B1 awarded for record increases in enrolment while GPS Jujhar Nagar, GPS Jhingian (Kharar), GPS Chhajumajra, GMS Jastana Kalan and GMS Khizargarh (Banur) were adjudged best performing schools in Mission Samarth.

The Minister said that the “Dialogue with Teachers” will prove a new milestone in the history of the education system in Punjab with the direct interaction with all the stakeholders like best-performing teachers, Scholl heads and Campus Managers to further improve the education system in government schools of Punjab.

District Education Officer (Secondary) Dr Ginni Duggal welcomed the Minister and apprised him of the progress of various programmes.

The minister exhorted the teachers to prepare the students well for the upcoming PARAKH exam on December 4.
Special Secretary (Education) Charchil Kumar, Secretary PSEB Sanjeev Kumar, DPI (Secondary) Paramjit Singh, and DPI (Elementary) Harkirat Kaur Channe were also present.
