Teaching Workshop on ‘Dermatopathology’ conducted

Ludhiana, September 26, 2021: Department of Pathology DMCH in collaboration with Department of Histopathology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, under the aegis of Dermatopthology Society of India organised a one day ‘Teaching Workshop on ‘Dermatopathology’. The workshop was held in DMC College Campus and was attended by 100 delegates including the PG students of DMCH.
Secretary DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta formally inaugurated the workshop  and lauded the efforts of organizers for conducting this conference. Also present on the occasion were Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Dean Academics Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Medical Supdt. Sandeep Sharma, Dr BD Radotra (Professor & Head of Histopathology, PGIMER, Chandigarh),Dr Uma Nahar and Dr Bhavna Garg (from DMCH).
Dr Pavneet Kaur Selhi (Professor of Pathology extended) extended warm welcome to the distinguished guest speakers and participating delegates. In her address, Dr Harpreet Puri (Professor & Head of Pathology,DMCH) said that the purpose of conducting the workshop highlighted of the issues According to Dr Harpreet Puri (Professor & Head of Pathology, DMCH), the purpose of conducting the workshop was to highlights of the issues pertaining to practical slide viewing and discussion of skin biopsies on interesting topics of Vasculitis and Bullous lesions of the skin which remain diagnostic challenge for both dermatologists and pathologists. This workshop will also be helpful to the PG students, practicing pathologists and dermatologists in understanding the various terminologies used in routine practice.
Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal DMCH said that this workshop will be very helpful to the PG students and consultants of Dermatology and Pathology departments. And this workshop is an excellent platform to discuss various issues aspect and terminologies for both the departments.
The scientific sessions during the workshop included the lectures, online microscopic sessions, discussion on skin biopsies make this workshop more interactive. Renowned guest speakers from PGIMER, Chandigarh, including Dr Ridhi Sood, Dr Uma Nahar Saikia, Dr BD Radotra and Dr Debajyoti Chatterjee spoke on various topics related to  the field of Dermatopathology.  
The workshop got concluded with an impressive valedictory function and vote of thanks to the participating delegates in making this workshop a great success.
