Teams of PSPCL conduct mass raid in Khanna city, different towns and villages of Khanna Circle

Ludhiana: To curb the menace of theft of electricity, following the directions of CMD Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. A. Venu Parshad, Er. G.P.S. Grewal Direction/Distribution Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. and Er. Varinder Pal Singh Saini Chief Engineer/DS Central Zone, Ludhiana, teams of officers/officials of Khanna Circle conducted a mass raid at 5 AM in Khanna city, different towns and villages of Khanna Circle.
Er. Himat Singh Dhillon Superintending Engineer DS Circle, Khanna told that during this checking 2713 connections were checked and 47 cases of theft of electricity, 95 cases of unauthorized extension (UE) in load and 3 number cases of unauthorized use of electricity (UUE) were detected. Apart from this, 21 suspected meters having their display off, were got pack sealed, which will be checked up in ME Lab. In addition to this Readings/Particulars of 2127 meters were also checked up which are being compared with the record. An amount of Rs. 17 lacs approximately has been charged to these consumers. FIRs are being lodged against 47 consumers found stealing electricity.
