Dharmani stressed the importance of aligning youth education with private sector needs to facilitate easier employment opportunities. "In today's times, it is crucial to prepare our youth according to the requirements of the private sector," he stated.
Reflecting on the contributions of the late GS Bali, Dharmani noted his significant role in advancing the state's technical education and transportation sectors. "The benefits of his initiatives are still being reaped by the state today," Dharmani remarked.
To honor GS Bali's legacy, Dharmani announced that the Polytechnic Institute of Kangra would be renamed after him. Additionally, Rs 50 crore will be allocated to introduce a computer science course at Nagrota Engineering College to enhance education facilities for the youth.
Dharmani also outlined new initiatives to promote employment in technical education, including the introduction of courses in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Internet of Things, and Mechatronics at one engineering college and two polytechnic institutes. Furthermore, new-age courses such as Internet, Mechanical, Electric Vehicle, and Fiber to Home Technician training are being offered at 17 Industrial Training Institutes across the state. He mentioned the introduction of DON training courses in Shahpur to further expand employment opportunities for the youth.
RS Bali, son of the late GS Bali and Chairman/Cabinet Rank of the Tourism Corporation, announced an ambitious goal to provide employment to 5,000 youth within five years in the Nagrota Vidhansabha constituency. To achieve this, bi-annual employment fairs are being organized to offer job opportunities directly to the local youth.
"GS Bali was a pioneer in advocating for unemployment allowances and youth employment," RS Bali said. "Inspired by his vision, we are committed to creating employment opportunities for the youth, particularly in the tourism sector, which holds immense potential."
Shalini Agnihotri, the chief guest at the event, praised the school children's performances and emphasized the importance of cultural competitions in the Bal Mela for youth development. "These competitions provide our young people with opportunities to excel and grow," she said.
