Technical talks and mock interviews for students at PU

Chandigarh, April 25, 2017: The Department of Computer Science and Applications, Panjab University, Chandigarh organised technical talks and mock interviews for the students of MCA and M.SC (Honors School Computer Science) for the Chandigarh, Hoshiarpur and Muktsar campus.
The aim of the talks was to prepare the students for the campus placements of the department beginning July 2017 onwards.
The event was conducted by the placement cell of DCSA where excelled dignitaries in IT domain interacted with the students. The event was presided over by Mr.Ripujit Singh, Vice President, Fujitsu, (Chicago Chapter) . Mr.Harshvir Singh Jaspal,
Managing Director Drish Infotech and former secretary TIE Chandigarh along with Mr.Jeevandeep Ghai, Founder and CEO of santabanta.com , and general secretary of Chandigarh TIE. The Speakers discussed with the students the industry requirements
and their demands from the campus.
The techniques to handle interviews were summarized and discussed with the students by Guneet Singh, Corporate Trainer. Dr. Amandeep Singh , TPO UIAMS conducted mock interviews for a section of students to apprise them of mistakes and errors
committed by the students during the interview. The event ended with the Vote of Thanks from Prof. Sonal Chawla and Ms. Rohini Sharma , Placement Coordinators at DCSA.
The sessions were innovative, inspiring and a perfect pathway for students in terms of skill set enhancements which are essential to excel in their personal and professional lives. The DCSA had almost 80% placements for the session 2016-2017 in various firms like Nagarro, Infosys, Sufi etc. Such events at the department shall perk up the placements and shall constructively prepare the students for the placements activities for the coming sessions.
