Techno-Giant Google selects LPU’s BTech student as ‘Community Lead’
In addition to leading ‘Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC), CSE Student Suraj Mani will also be a mentor for ‘Google Cloud Career Readiness’
Jalandhar, August 19, 2021: Techno-Giant Google has selected BTech CSE student Suraj Mani of LPU as its ‘Community Lead’ from amongst thousands of applicants from across India. In addition to leading ‘Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC), Suraj will also be a mentor for ‘Google Cloud Career Readiness Student’ programme. With this responsibility just after crossing his teens, Suraj is entrusted with making the fellow student community understand how to bridge the existing gap between theory and practice. He will also have access to community management training, and technical knowledge to be a stronger global leader in due course of time. LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal has congratulated the meritorious student on bagging illustrious achievement and outshining various other competing students from across India candidates.
Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSCs) are community groups for college and university students interested in Google developer technologies. These help students to bridge the gap existing between theory and practice. Here, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment, and build solutions for local businesses and their community at a very early phase of their life. Guiding students under GDSC, Suraj will also enable fellow students to prepare for cloud careers under ‘Google Cloud career readiness program”.
Elated Suraj Mani shares: “At LPU, I have become more passionate about creating special impact by imbibing a strong technical understanding of programming/software engineering. Moreover, working with student organizations at the campus, I also have good experience of leading a team and event planning. Many of my seniors at LPU (like Bibin Babu, Khageshwar Izardar and more) had also got such a coveted opportunity through which they are now onto high podiums. I will also strive hard as expected and bring name and fame to self, university and the country.”
Mani is to grow student- knowledge on developer products and platforms through hands-on workshops and events. He will also identify local partners to work with and lead project building activities. As such, he will earn professional growth too. Through this, he will have access to the global network of student leaders, professional community organizers, industry experts and more. In fact, as per a survey report, maximum of the thus selected “GDSC Leads” have found a job, internship or started their own venture due to their vast experience with Google Developer Student Clubs.
