Teej celebrated in Lyallpur Khalsa College
As a part of Punjabi culture and tradition, the students in Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated the festival of Teej today in the College campus.
Jalandhar, July 28, 2022: As a part of Punjabi culture and tradition, the students in Lyallpur Khalsa College celebrated the festival of Teej today in the College campus.
In a brief yet impressive function presided over by Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, girls students of the college performed Punjabi folk songs and Punjabi folk dance Gidha.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Samra said that folk arts of a culture faithfully represented the traditions and values of that culture and academic intelligentsia could play an important role in preservation of rich cultural Punjabi heritage. He reiterated the commitment of Lyallpur Khalsa College to Punjabi culture. He also said that girls were making great achievements in the field of academic studies, cultural, research, literature and sports and that was an indication that women empowerment was taking place in the society and added that no society could ever progress without women empowerment.
The occasion was marked by the presence of staff and students of the College.
