The Combined Annual Training Camp-42, organized under the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, commenced today at the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology. A total of 600 NCC cadets are participating in this camp.

Jalandhar, October 18, 2024: The Combined Annual Training Camp-42, organized under the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion, commenced today at the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology. A total of 600 NCC cadets are participating in this camp. Cadets from other districts are also taking part in the 10-day camp, which runs day and night. To participate in the Republic Day event in Delhi, 105 cadets are attending this third NCC camp in succession. The cadets selected from this camp will compete in the inter-group competition at the NCC Academy in Ropar. A total of 10 NCC groups from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Chandigarh will participate in the Republic Day competition in Delhi.
 
500 cadets from 36 different educational institutions under the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion have come for the NCC camp, where they will receive training on various subjects of NCC. The camp will cover topics such as drill with weapons, dismantling and assembling weapons, knowledge about the names and parts of weapons, personality development, leadership qualities, map reading, battle drills, and section battles. 
 
Camp Commandant Colonel Vinod Joshi stated that the military training for 600 cadets will be held daily from 6 AM to 9 PM, which includes morning runs, exercises, and military training after breakfast, followed by team sports in the evening. The Camp Commandant expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sudhir Sharma, Principal of the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology, for providing hostel and administrative facilities for the camp. For the excellent training of the 600 cadets, 6 Associate NCC Officers, girl cadet instructors, and 45 Army instructors have been deployed.
