TET Union exposes Punjab Government of its hollow promises

Ferozepur, August 13, 2012 : To expose the Punjab Government about its hollow commitments, Unemployed TET Union staged progress in the city and resentment rally passed through the main bazaars and burnt the effigy of the commitments of State Government after blocking the traffic at the main crossing of Ferozepur Cantt.

The Union leaders informed that as per Right to Education Act, the recruitment of teachers in Primary Schools is to be made in the student-teacher ratio of 30:1 and in Middle Schools 35:1 but the Punjab Government is violating the RTE Act by implementing the new rationalization policy. 

The Union leaders said that on July 16, a meeting of Union executive members of was held with the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal in which a commitment was given that an advertisement for new Master cadre posts and instructions were issued to the Education Department to issue appointment letter to 3,442 who have already applied candidates and counseling attended for 1,273 ETT posts but about one month is going to pass, no action has so far been taken which is a mockery with the teachers community.

They warned to the government in their strongly worded speeches that in case their demands are not met immediately, they will be compelled to intensify their agitation and gherao all the Punjab Ministers in the state.

 On this occasion, besides in good number of Union leaders and workers, Darshandeep, Avtar Singh, Raman Kumar, Sukhwinder Singh and Raj Kumar were present.
