Tewari asks girl students to be self reliant

Ludhiana, September 14, 2012: Ludhiana MP and the National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress Manish Tewari today asked the girl students of the DD Jain Memorial College for Women, Kidwai Nagar, to become self reliant and use their education and skills for their personal and social development.

Addressing the students after laying the foundation stone for the Computer Centre in the college for which he has sanctioned Rs five lakhs from his MPLAD fund, Tewari said, education was the greatest asset for anyone particularly for the girl at it helps them to become self reliant.

The MP asked the students to ensure that they utilize their education and do not simply sit at home. “You must use your education and the skills acquired during education for your personal and social betterment”, he said, while adding, it was matter of great pride that girls were not only competing with the boys, but were even outperforming them.

Among others present on the occasion included Chairman Hira Lal Jain, President, Kedar Nath Jain, Principal Poonam Sareen, Councillor Pinki Bansal, Sham Sunder Malhotra, Navneesh Malhotra, Gurmukh Singh Mithu, Rinku Malhotra, Vivek Magho, Ramanpreet Singh, Desh Bandhu Gupta, Rajiv Jain, Piyush Jain, Prem Jain, Amrit Lal Jain and others.
