Thandal directs for special facilities to Muslim inmates during Ramzan

Chandigarh, July 1, 2014: Sohan Singh Thandal, Jails Minister, Punjab today asked all the Jail Superintendents to extend special and needful facilities to the inmates belonging to Muslim community in view of holy month of Ramzan.

Reviewing the arrangements for the holy month of Ramzan in Jails, Thandal ranged up and directed all the superintendents to provide eatable including milk, fruits and other eatables as per the need of inmates during fasts observed by them. He said that special efforts should be made for immaculate arrangements on the eve of Ramzan, besides ensuring the provision of hygienic food in accordance with jail manuals. He also directed all doctors posted in the jails to check the quality of food before cooking and serving to the inmates.
