Hoshiarpur/Jalandhar, October 21, 2103: Sohan Singh Thandal, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab has unveiled his five pronged strategy to execute various development works in the rural area of his constituency thus uplifting the living standard of the downtrodden.
 Thandal listed his priorities for the development works in his new 5 point agenda list, released to the media here today. Disclosing more of his agenda list Thandal said that his first priority would be provide potable drinking water to the poor families residing in the villages. Second priority on the agenda list is to provide the food grains and daal to the blue cards holders at subsidized rates under Atta Dal Scheme. He said that the poor families which yet not covered under Atta Dal Scheme, would also be brought under the ambit of this scheme by issuing new blue cards to them. He said that  Parkash Singh Badal during Bhagwan Valmiki’s Birth Anniversary, has already announced to double the beneficiaries of Atta Dal Scheme from 15 lakh to 30 lakh. He said that under this scheme now Atta would be provided to the poor families @ Rs.1 kg which was earlier Rs. 4 kg.
He said that third priority would be to extend the benefit of pension to the poor families whereas providing a medical cover of Rs. 30 thousands/per annum to all the poor families would be forth work on his agenda list. He further said that his fifth priority would be to ensure that a meritorious student belonging to poor families would get pre-matric and post-Matric scholarship to continue his studies.
He said that the sewerage project worth Rs.1.68 crore, the foundation stone of which laid by him in village Tanuli in the recent past, would be completed before the stipulated time. He said that this project is a part of World Bank project and two villages of his constituency has been chosen for this project. He said that Badial is the second village chosen for this WB Project apart from Tanuli. www.cityairnews.com
