The Anannke Foundation gifted underprivileged kids of “All India Citizens Alliance for Progress and Development” (AICAPD) 100 water-proof school bags and fruit juice packs for Christmas

Noida, December 12, 2022: The "Anannke Foundation," a leading humanitarian organisation and advocate for the underprivileged, presented "100 water-resistant school bags and fruit juice" to underprivileged kids of the "All India Citizens Alliance for Progress and Development" (AICAPD)*. Priority was given to children of daily wagers, contract workers, and migrant communities who face hunger, a lack of clean water, homelessness, and poverty. The objective of the initiative was to provide moments of happiness to children suffering difficult situations as a result of the pandemic's twenty-month duration.

The COVID-19 has aggravated children's access to schooling, and during this time, many children had irregular access to school supplies and materials, and many were "missing" from school for long periods. During its research, the Anannke Foundation found that children across different socio-economic contexts have been severely affected, and educational gaps—in access to educational materials, devices, the internet, and other basic resources to continue schooling—were expectedly worse for those with prior disadvantages, which varied across gender, age, region, and disability.

Kumari Meena (12) said, "Due to heavy rain during the monsoons, my bag got drenched and the books got ruined. I carried books in a plastic bag to school because our father didn't have enough money to buy me a new bag. I am very happy that I will go to school with a new waterproof bag and study wholeheartedly."

Dr. Malini Saba, Founder and Chairman of the Anannke Foundation, said, "Millions of children are confronting the most severe crisis in a generation. The holiday season is not a happy time for the children suffering from the economic, physical, and emotional effects of COVID-19. Through this endeavour, we wish to bring joy and happiness to the children at Christmas.

Sandeep Rajput, Director, "All India Citizens Alliance for Progress and Development" (AICAPD) said, "We are grateful to the Anannke Foundation for their generous support; nothing is more valuable than a happy child. It has brought smiles to the faces of children who had forgotten how to laugh as a result of hardships, difficulties, and problems.''

In addition to immediate responses, the "Anannke Foundation" will continue to provide comprehensive, long-term remedies to the most impacted areas and assist in their gradual return to normalcy. The foundation's mission is to help at least one billion people around the world obtain access to basic healthcare, education, and opportunities that enable them to break the cycle of poverty and eliminate human rights illiteracy.
