Chandigarh, March 6, 2025: The departmental chapter of the 10th Chandigarh Social Science congress-2025(CHASSCONG) was held at University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, here today.
Under the able leadership of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Renu Vig, the Director Prof. Shruti Bedi and the co-ordinators Prof. Gulshan Kumar, and Prof. Navneet Arora, the event was successfully organised at UILS. The theme of the conference this year was “Reimagining North West India: A Human Development Perspective”. CHASSCONG is an annual event which provides a platform to the scholars and faculty from various disciplines of social sciences to gain exposure to the latest research and development in the field. Approximately 80 plus participants enthusiastically presented their research papers and engaged in deep deliberations over the subject.
For a smooth conduct of the conference, UILS had created multiple committees which helped in smooth organisation. Notable committees included technical aid, a comprehensive committee creating a detailed report of all the sessions. Senior professors from various departments of the university chaired the parallel sessions of the conference and significantly contributed to the knowledge system.
