PAU holds training camp for progressive beekeepers

Ludhiana, August 2, 2023: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, organized the monthly training camp for the Progressive Beekeepers Association (Regd.) members here today.

Additional Director of Communication, and Programme Director, Dr Tejinder Singh Riar welcomed the participants and gave an overview of the activities conducted by the PAU Kisan Club.

Programme Associate Director and Head, Department of Extension Education, PAU, Ludhiana, Dr Kuldeep Singh, informed that 55 beekeepers from across the state attended the camp. The programme included sessions on the Management of honeybees during the monsoon season, techniques to make soap using honey, Adulteration in honey and Challenges faced by beekeepers.

The lectures were delivered by experts, Dr Jaspal Singh, Head, Department of Entomology; Dr Prerna Kapila, Skill Development Centre; Dr Khushdeep Dharni, Director, School of Business Studies; and Jatinder Singh Sohi, President, Punjab Beekeepers Association, respectively.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks, proposed by Jagtar Singh, Secretary Punjab Beekeepers Association.
