The Shining Star event celebrates academic excellence at DAVIET Jalandhar

Jalandhar, May 24, 2023: DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET) in association with Akash Byjus and 91.9 FM organized a grand event, "Shining Star," to honor and celebrate the exceptional achievements of students who scored 90 percent and above in their class 10th and 12th board examinations. The event took place at the prestigious DAVIET campus and saw the participation of over 500 meritorious students from the leading schools of Jalandhar like Police DAV Public School, Army Public School, St Joseph’s Public School, Innocent Hearts Public School, and Shivjyoti Public School.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Sanjeev Naval, Principal (O) of DAVIET. Dr. Naval extended his heartfelt congratulations to the students and their parents on their remarkable achievements. He acknowledged that behind every successful student, there is the hard work and sacrifices of the entire family. He emphasized that the event was a moment to honor the students and appreciate the relentless hard work and sacrifices made by their families. Furthermore, Dr. Naval praised the commendable efforts of Radio 91.9 FM and Akash Byjus for conceptualizing the "Shining Star" event. He highlighted that such initiatives are crucial in boosting the morale of budding technocrats, managers, doctors, and other professionals. Dr. Naval acknowledged the significance of events like "Shining Star" in recognizing and nurturing the talent of young minds who will shape the future of India. He commended their commitment to supporting and encouraging the aspirations of students, emphasizing their role in fostering the growth and development of the future workforce in India. He also shared insights into the best practices followed at DAVIET to promote outcome-based education. Elaborating on the institution's commitment to providing a conducive environment for students to excel in their academic pursuits, Dr. Naval also provided valuable tips on career counseling and introduced the diverse range of courses available at DAVIET. This served as an excellent opportunity for the students to gain insights into various career paths and make informed decisions about their future. The Principal also appreciated the hard work put in by the Program Co-ordinators Dr MK Kaushik and Ms Jasdeep Kaur. Dr Anju Naval, Dean Students Affairs, Dr Neeru Malhotra, Head Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Dr Sudhir Sharma, Head Department of Electrical Engineering and Dr Jagjit Malhotra, Associate Professor, Department of  Electronics and Communication Engineering were also present during the function. 

The Shining Star event witnessed the presence of esteemed guests from 91.9 FM, including Anil, Umesh Sharma, RJ Himanshu, RJ Lavina, RJ Sandy, and RJ Imran. Their participation added to the grandeur of the occasion and showcased the support and encouragement provided by the radio station to the talented youth of Jalandhar.

The event served as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate the relentless hard work put in by the students, paving their way towards success in life. It instilled a sense of pride and motivation among the students and highlighted the significance of academic excellence.
