There should be no partiality in public welfare works: MP Manish Tewari
Participated in Municipal Corporation House meeting, Paid tribute to former Mayor Pradeep Chhabra
Chandigarh, July 9, 2024: Chandigarh MP and former Union Minister Manish Tewari has accused the BJP of discriminating against people in public welfare works. Addressing the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation House meeting, MP Tewari said that not every ward has BJP workers alone, nor do Congress or Aam Aadmi Party workers alone live there. In such a situation, why is there partiality in the matter of development.
He mentioned, "When he was an MP from Sri Anandpur Sahib, there were 7 MLAs from Aam Aadmi Party, one from BSP and one from Shiromani Akali Dal. But during that time, there was never any kind of opposition rhetoric between them. Similarly, during his tenure as MP from Ludhiana, there was never any dispute with MLAs of other parties."
Similarly, MP Tewari expressed his views on the notice issued by the Joint Secretary of the Local Bodies Department in the context of the proposal passed by the Municipal Corporation House regarding free parking and giving 20 thousand liters of water per month to the people. Tewari said that the rules regarding the resolution passed by the House were not followed in the notice. Through these resolutions, an attempt has been made to stop the decisions taken in public interest.
On this occasion, a two-minute silence was also observed by the House, paying tribute to former Mayor Pradeep Chhabra. Where MP Tewari shared memories related to late Chhabra with the attendees.
