Third time in a row, Nawanshahr tops state with lowest pendency in public centric services

Nawanshahr, December 25, 2021: As the country was celebrating Good Governance Day today, the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar had been again declared number one by the state government third time in a row for lowest pendency and ensuring prompt and efficient delivery of the public services.
 
 As per fresh report issued, district had only 0.09 percent pendency of applications in Sewa Kendras from December 24, 2020 to December 23, 2021. It was pertinent to mention here that district had been securing first rank with 0.04 percent pendency and 0.09 percent in the previous weeks. 
 
Reiterating the commitment of redressing the applications of the people within set time bound manner, Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal said that effective and prompt delivery of the services ensures good governance.
 
He said that Sewa Kendras were opened by the government aiming to help the people in getting their routine administrative works done in speedy and timely. He told that these kendras were ensuring minimise public interaction with various offices and enhanced efficiency of the administration by bringing transparency and accountability in the whole service delivery system.
 
 
He informed that the district had received 137392 applications in Sewa Kendras from December 18, 2020 to December 17, 2021 and 119 applications were pending beyond the stipulated timeline set by the state government.
 
 
He said that 716 applications were rejected and 148 were sent back on the account of inappropriate information or documents. He said that 3152 applications were in the process and remaining applications were disposed of on time.
 
He said that the zero pendency approach of the administration was ensuring vital results and asserted that it would leave no stone unturned to facilitate the people by settling their applications within set timeframe.
 
Deputy Commissioner lauded the hard work and commitment of the officials and employees towards delivering the services to the people promptly.
 
He said that clear directions had been given to the officials/employees to strictly adhere to deliver the services to the people timely. He said that the Punjab Government was committed to giving topmost priority to provide services to the citizens without any kind of problem to them.
 
Sarangal exhorted the officials/employees to continue to exhibit such zeal and passion towards citizen services.
