Jatinder Singh in male category & Arpita in female category wins XII CT Half Marathon

Jalandhar, March 10, 2019: Thousands of participants, including Jawans in uniform, paid a tribute to CRPF martyrs of Pulwama attack by running for charity at 12th CT Half Marathon today morning. The participants from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and other states run for the noble cause at the half marathon organised by CT Group of Institutions which was flagged off by IGP Rakesh Kumar Yadav, CRPF, Chandigarh, VK Kaundal, DIG, Commandant VC Joon and celebrated Punjabi Singer Tarsem Jassar at CT Shahpur Campus. In the half marathon, sports persons to senior citizens to Olympians, artists, players and also physically challenged persons joined.

After the thorough practice, under male category, Jatinder Singh with chest number 0789, Simran Singh with chest number 0666 and Gurwinder with chest number 0766 stood first, second and third respectively. Under women category and giving full competition, Arpita with chest number 3133, Kuljeet Kaur with chest number 0796 and Jyoti with chest number 0792 bagged first, second and third positions respectively. The event was huge sum of cash prize for the winners. The first prize was of Rs. 25,000 (Male & Female both), second prize was Rs. 11000 (Male & Female both), third prize was Rs. 5,100 (Male & Female both) and 7 consolation prizes of Rs. 2100.

There were live performances by leading Punjabi singers Tarsem Jassar, Aashit, Runbir, Bura Purewal, along with The Josh Band of Garry Chaudhary at CT Maqsudan Campus. RJ Bindas Vikas, RJ Garry and RJ Garima from 94.3 MY FM mesmerized the audience with their wonderful hosting. The event also saw the presence of CT Group Co-Chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Tanika Singh and Seerat Singh.

Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions said that the raised funds will be donated to the families of CRPF martyrs. He said, “The event has been successful from last eleven years that helped us to collect funds for the deprived and needy and at the same time it gives a combine platform to many for the noble cause.”

Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions congratulated the winners and expressed his gratitude towards every volunteer who has taken the event on another level of success with their support and participation.

There was first aid and other medical assistance for the runners by the students and staff members of CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) and doctors from renowned hospitals registered their presence as well.
