Chandigarh, September 25, 2024: Department of Community Education and Disability Studies, Panjab University Chandigarh would organize a three-day Continuing Rehabilitation Education (CRE) from September 26-28.


The programme is being organized on the theme of “Assessment, Curriculum Adaptation and Intervention Strategies for Students with Specific Learning Disability” under the patronage of Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Renu Vig and Chaired by the Chairperson Dr. Md Saifur Rahman in the seminar hall at the department. 
The programme is a wonderful opportunity for RCI professionals, having licenses from the Rehabilitation Council of India, working in the field of special education (Teachers, Special Educators, and Psychologists), especially for children with specific learning disability. It will update participants with the latest advancements in knowledge and technology related to specific learning disability and contribute to their professional development. 

Experts from different domains including Clinical Psychology, Medicine, Library Science, Research and Educationare would provide a multidisciplinary understanding as well as approaches of Specific Learning Disability to the Participants. This programme will undertake the various topics related to learning disability (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia), inclusive classrooms, development of teaching-learning material, technology, curriculum adaptation, assessment, accommodation, sign language, intervention, and management strategies (stress, anxiety, behavior modification, etc.), accessing quality literature from libraries and online databases. 

There will be a total of 18 sessions in this programme. The participants will be updated with new approaches of assessments, identification process, and intervention strategies. This program will empower the teachers to identify and determine the needs of the child with special needs studying in the schools. Ultimately, it will contribute to developing sustainable environment in schools and to construct supportive society for children with special needs so that they could live their lives happily in society.
