Three day Football Fiesta kicks off at CT University

16 teams participating to win cash prize of Rs. 21,000 at CTU Football fiesta

Ludhiana, February 13, 2019: A three day football fiesta kicked off at CT University’ Sports Complex, Ludhiana campus in which 16 teams from various villages and clubs will be competing with each other. 16 teams namely Dashmesh Club Jagraon, Raqba, Akhara, GFC Jagraon, Kothe Rahlan and Jangpur etc. are participating. The winners will get cash prize of Rs.21,000 and Rs.11,000, along with winning trophy.

The event was inaugurated by Chancellor Charanjit S Channi, Vice Chancellor Dr. Harsh Sadawarti along with the prestigious presence of Registrar Dr. JS Dhiman, Dean Academics Dr. GS Bakshi, Director Students Affair SS Grewal and HOD Physical Education Dr. Praveen Sharma.

On this occasion, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, said, “Participation in sports and games help us to balance our personalities and the students can display their stamina and strength. The combination of mind and strength also proves beneficial in the curricular performance”. He added that the CTU has developed excellent facilities for sports and games to hone up the physical skills of our youth.

The head of the School of Physical Education, Dr. Praveen Sharma, said, “We try to bring out the best from a student through motivating them to participate in sports and extracurricular activities. The need of the hour is powerful youth.”
