Three-day international conference on student progression concludes at Amity University
More than 360 scholars from India and abroad present their views during 79 sessions of the conference
A three-day international conference on “Re-engineering Higher Education for Student Progress – Knowledge, and Skills Essential for the Digital Economy” concluded today at Amity University.
In this conference, 79 sessions were held wherein more than 360 scholars from across the country and abroad expressed their views in the context of various fields.
Mr. Rajat Mookerjee, Director General, Broad Band India said general skills are more important than technical skills. In the last two years, almost all the countries in the whole world were affected but everything was not completely closed just that the needs of the people have changed. The old ways of working in offices, classrooms, libraries, cinema halls, malls, etc. are changing, which will not end but will assimilate the new normal. Home has become the form of office and digital dependence has increased since March 2020. Mr. Mookerjee said that mobile food ordering has increased by 20 percent, digital payment has increased by 18 percent. The environment has completely changed, today those working from home and taking online education need internet facilities. He advised participants to keep updated digital information and stay connected and develop communication skills with not only your boss or customer but also with your colleagues so that ideas can be exchanged easily.
Mr. Ram Chandra Agarwal, Chairman, and Managing Director, Vitu Retail Limited said, in the history of humanity we have seen war, discrimination, poverty, etc. So if the human quality index is to be better we have to improve the human environment. We have to make the students good citizens who think and act in the context of the development of humanity. Keeping the body healthy is essential in the Human Quality Index. Have good dreams, set goals, and work to achieve them. To keep the body healthy, he advised students to practice yoga, exercise, be sympathetic towards people to become a good person.
While addressing the participants, Dr. Balvinder Shukla, Vice-Chancellor, Amity University, said the information provided by the guests in the closing ceremony of this three-day conference will be beneficial for all of us including students. The impact of the COVID pandemic has changed people's primary needs, business models, employment roles, and skills. During the pandemic, digital technology, sustainability, work from home, new human resource regulation, skill development, digital literacy, etc have pervaded all sectors. Dr. Shukla said that new skills are needed for the changes taking place in the business perspective and this conference was organized to develop them in the students by understanding their skills.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. K.M Soni, Deputy Dean of Engineering and Technology; Dr. R. Sujata, Professor, Amity Business School; Dr. Sanjeev Bansal, Dean, Faculty Management Studies, Amity University were also present amongst others.
