Chandigarh, September 19, 2024: The 3 days 14th annual global ‘Cardiomersion’ conference on cardiovascular care concluded at Mohali on Thursday. During the conference around 400 leading cardiovascular experts across the world discussed comprehensive management of cardiovascular diseases.
The conference focused on an integrated approach to comprehensive cardiovascular care with insightful sessions, expert discussions, and collaborative exchanges between experts. It also provided a comprehensive platform for the latest advancements and innovations in the management of cardiovascular diseases (CVD).
Throughout the three days, the conference covered a wide range of topics which were critical to the evolving field of cardiovascular care. The academic sessions on day 1 focused on preventative measures in cardiovascular diseases, emphasizing the role of early intervention in improving patient outcomes. The health benefits of unconventional therapies like yoga, music therapy and balanced Diet were also discussed by experts.
The second day delved into advanced cardiac interventions with sessions highlighting technological innovations such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR), and robotic-assisted and thoracoscopic surgeries. Experts from the USA presented the latest research on improving surgical outcomes through minimally invasive techniques and the integration of advanced imaging technologies, which have been transforming the field of cardiovascular surgery. Discussions by Dr Deepak Puri, global chairman of Cardiomersion and senior director CTVS at Max Hospital, Mohali also centered around the global rise in sudden cardiac deaths among younger populations and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on heart failure and other cardiovascular conditions.
On the final day, participants engaged in paper presentations that explored the comprehensive management of cardiovascular and other lifestyle diseases, with a special emphasis on holistic and interdisciplinary approaches. The sessions on stress management for healthcare professionals were conducted thus recognizing the critical need to protect those on the frontlines of patient care from burnout and lifestyle diseases.
