Three members of swindler gang nabbed by police
The accused were produced in the court today and were sent for two days police remand
Ferozepur: The police has nabbed three members of gang who used to swindle people on the pretext of doubling their money.
As per information available, the accused identified as Iqbal Singh, resident of Muktsar district, Ashok alias Sukha and Gora, both residents of Village Mohan ke Uthar, Om Parkash, Manjit Kaur resident of village Sohan Garh in Guruharsahai sub-division, Sarabjit Singh alias Sabi, resident of Village Pipli in Lakho ke Behram area allegedly used to extract money from innocent people on pretext of double their money.
ASI Malkit Singh, Investigation Officer while giving details said that the police had also received inputs that the accused were in possession of illegal weapons also. “Following the inputs, a trap was laid and near Village Kutti Mour in Guruharsahai and the accused Iqbal Singh, Om Parkash and Ashok were arrested while they were coming on their car. During the checking of the car, one country made pistol (.315 bore) with 5 live rounds were recovered. Besides, the police also recovered fake currency of Rs. 1.20 Lakh in shape of four bundles of Rs. 500/- and Rs. 100/- (two bundle each). Out of these bundles, only one currency note was original while the rest of the currency was fake”, said IO.
The accused were booked under sections 420, 120-B, 170 IPC and 25, 54, 59 Arms Act at Guruharsahai police station (FIR No. 38 dated 04.04.2021).
“The accused were produced in the court today and were sent for two days police remand”, he further added.
